LUCKNOW: Former UP chief secretary Rajive Kumar has been appointed the chairman of RERA. In a press release issued by principal secretary (housing) Nitin Ramesh Gokaran, late this evening it was informed that while Rajive Kumar has been appointed chairman of RERA, Balwinder Kumar, another retired IAS officer, and Bhanu Pratap Singh, retired IPS, have been appointed as its members along with Kalpana Mishra in the same capacity.

Since the retirement of Rajive Kumar, it was being talked about that the government would award him with some responsible assignment, given his clean image and impeccable service record as chief secretary of the state. Rajive Kumar had retired in July from the post of chief secretary.

Balwandier Kumar, also of UP cadre, has been appointed vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority during his central deputation.

BP Singh, retired IPS officer, is supposed to be a trusted hand of the chief minister Yogi Adityanath and he retired from the post of DG EOW and CID.

The post of RERA chairman had been lying vacant for over one year.
